Critical net-baryon fluctuations in an expanding system

چکیده

In this work we study the consequences of a longitudinal Bjorken expansion and Hubble-like temperature cooling scenario on $1+1$ dimensional nonlinear model diffusive dynamics fluctuations in net-baryon density. The equilibrium behavior is fully encoded dependence susceptibilities crossover side both vicinity assumed location critical point at vanishing baryochemical potential line with lattice quantum chromodynamics calculations. We demonstrate great sensitivity fluctuation observables dynamics, particular diffusion length freeze-out conditions. While signals are visible region broadened by expansion, too small can strongly reduce amplitude signals. propose to search for significant anticorrelations baryons intermediate rapidity experimentally map out fourth-order cumulant, which, presence (and only its presence), has pronounced minimum rapidities.

Stochastic Isocurvature Baryon Fluctuations, Baryon Diffusion, and Primordial Nucleosynthesis

We examine effects on primordial nucleosynthesis from a truly random spatial distribution in the baryon-to-photon ratio (η). We generate stochastic fluctuation spectra characterized by different spectral indices and root-mean-square fluctuation amplitudes. For the first time we explicitly calculate the effects of baryon diffusion on the nucleosynthesis yields of such stochastic fluctuations. We...

Anomalous net-baryon-rapidity spectra at RHIC

Net-baryon rapidity distributions in central Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV are shown to consist of three components. The nonequilibrium contributions are accounted for in a Relativistic Diffusion Model. Near midrapidity, a third fraction containing Zeq ≃ 22 protons reaches local statistical equilibrium in a discontinuous transition. It may be associated with a deconfinement of the partici...

In the vicinity of the quark-hadron critical point, in the phase diagram of QCD, simple power-law relations constrain the mid-rapidity net-baryon density profile, for different heavy-ion processes, in a unifying scheme. The corresponding scaling variable specifies the proximity of a given experiment to the critical point. An important phenomenological aspect of the critical properties in the ba...

Baryon Number Penetrability as a Measure of Isothermal Baryon Number Fluctuations in the Early Universe

We have examined the efficiency of baryon-number transport mechanism across the phase boundary in a cosmological quark-hadron phase transition through the proper estimate of baryon-number penetrability 〈Σh〉. For this purpose we have derived first the double-pair creation probability Pb in terms of single-pair creation probabilty per unit time and unit volume κm and then obtained an analytical e...

Nucleosynthesis in the Presence of Primordial Isocurvature Baryon Fluctuations

We study big bang nucleosynthesis in the presence of large mass-scale, non-linear entropy fluctuations. Overdense regions, with masses above the local baryon-Jeans mass, are expected to collapse and form condensed objects. Surviving nucleosynthesis products therefore tend to originate from underdense regions. We compute expected surviving light element (H, He, He, Li) abundance yields for a var...
